Visit the largest underground lake in the Caves of Drach, the town of Manacor to learn about the beautiful art of pearl production, and the Cave of Hams where we’ll explore the Sea of Venice and the otherworldly formations.

Discovered on March 2, 1902 by Pedro Caldentey Santandreu, The Caves of Hams are a collection of chambers known as “The Angel’s Dream” where you can admire the rock formations known as hams in Mallorquin, fish hooks in English.

The Cave of Drach date back to the Middle Ages and are made up of various chambers and four main caves. We’ll learn about the men who mapped out the caves and Edouard-Alfred Martel, French geologist, who was the first to discover the cave and lake that bears his name.

Between 1922 and 1935 a new entrance, paths, and ladders were added to make the caves more accessible to visitors. With an inside temperature of 21ºC and 80% humidity, the hour walk along the well-lit 1.2 km path shall be refreshing and damp.

The walk ends at the fantastic Lago de Martel with a classical music concert provided by musicians floating across the lake in boats to a backdrop of beautiful lights.
